Lakes we Guide on.
Lake Guided Trips
Central Oregon is blessed with an abundance of great lake fishing opportunities. Let us help you navigate the waters and bring home some incredible memories of outstanding scenery and incredible fly fishing.
High mountain lakes may be open to fishing all year per regulation, but weather will dictate the fishing season for high lakes. Most years, lakes will be snow and ice-free from June through October. However, some can be snow-free in May while those at higher elevations may not be accessible until early July.
Wickiup Reservoir
This is one of central Oregon’s best wildlife viewing sites because it attracts such a variety of nesting and/or migrating birds. Wickiup Reservoir is very rich, highly productive, relatively warm water and cooler deep channels generate some of the finest fishing in Central Oregon. If you are trying to check off that bucket list Brown Trout, this is the lake for you.
Lake Billy Chinook Reservoir
The lake’s name honors Billy Chinook a Wasco Indian who joined the John C. Fremont expedition in 1843. Lake Billy Chinook, created by Round Butte Dam fills the canyons of the Crooked, Metolius and Deschutes Rivers. Although Lake Billy Chinook holds largemouth, and Smallmouth Bass, Rainbow, Brown Trout, Kokanee salmon, what is really targeted on our trips is he massive Bull Trout that come into the lake system in the Spring.
